Sweeney Todd

The Duke University Department of Theater Studies and Hoof ‘n’ Horn, Duke’s student musical theater group, co-produced the Tony-Award-winning musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Directed by John Clum, Professor of Theater Studies and English, Sweeney Todd features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Hugh Wheeler from an adaptation by Christopher Bond. Sweeney Todd ran in October 2008 in Reynolds Theater in Duke’s Bryan Center. Here is how it came to life.
