Plans and develops
communications and marketing strategies and campaigns for all productions of
the Department of Theater Studies and Theater Previews as well as on-going
promotion, on- and off-campus, of the faculty and activities of the Department
of Theater Studies. Marketing campaigns include use of social media, print advertising,
direct mail, web marketing, press communications, promotional events, and
related educational events. Writes, edits and publishes Theater News (now an
e-mail newsletter). Coordinates design and publication of all other materials,
managing outside designers and vendors when contracted. Manages Facebook and
Twitter accounts. Manages and contributes video and written materials to
departmental blog. Provides written, video and other multimedia content for
department website and maintains site. Produces video documentaries for
department. Manages photo archive collections. Maintains communications with
alumni. Writes departmental grants for external funding. Conducts audience and market research to develop
marketing strategies for professional productions and evaluates effectiveness
of marketing plans. Prepares analyses and reports. Develops annual budget
recommendations for marketing campaigns, then monitors and verifies expenses. Serves
as producer for all departmental productions. Coordinates and manages travel
arrangements and receptions for visiting artists, lecturers and dignitaries.
Prepares budget for all productions and prepares and implements contracts for
all outside artists involved in productions. Prepares the schedule for all
theater activities in the department (ten to twenty events annually) and
manages the calendar for theater spaces under the direction of theater studies.

Workshop Director, Moveable Feast Retreats, ongoing
Leader and instructor for The Feast of Your Life workshops. Participants take courses in memoir writing,
painting and cooking, using personal food memories and traditions from their
own lives and then learn to cook in the local food traditions of the workshop
location, taught by a gourmet chef. Workshops move each year. Next workshops:
summer 2011, Basel and Aarau, Switzerland. Upcoming locations may include North
Carolina, Haiti, France and Oaxaca, Mexico.

Developed and wrote all internal and external communications materials for state agency,
including communication plans, speeches, journals, annual reports, press
materials and scripts for both the agency and statewide constituents. Developed
